Whoop, Jim Iyke has joined the league of entertainers who have embraced politics to make more money
But in his own case however, he isn’t contesting for a political post.
The Nollywood actor who knows how to create and put an end to his own
controversies, is now a member of newly registered Young Democratic
Party and he has been appointed as its Director General in the Diaspora.
Explaining that the vision of the party is to empower and promote
Nigerian youths within and outside the shore of the country, Jim in an
interview with Daily Independent, said thus:
“We just want to say
enough is enough. It is time power and our policies shift hands to
fresher minds, to stronger fortes, to people that are ready to move
with the momentum of time, tide and changes. But it cannot be
conceivable if you are saddled in that position for over two decades?
How can you grow? How can you go with the tide of time? Biologically
too, time will catch up with you because you are growing old in that
position.(continue)….
“Look at advanced countries of the world, and
take a close look at people that have moved forward, these are people
who have put things in place so that changes will be constant.
Refreshment of minds, ideas, psychology, idiosyncrasies will be
constant except for Nigeria.
“The same circle of people that governed
us 20 years ago are the same people who are still ruling us, what are
they still doing there? So many of them are in their 80s, grandfathers
by all rights! Are they not tired? Suffering and smiling has become our
motto, our slogan”,

Diver Encounters Giant 20-Foot Anaconda
While diving deep within the rivers of the Brazilian rain forest,
wildlife expert Franco Banfi encountered a huge anaconda that would have
sent your average diver swimming for the shore.
The massive green anaconda was estimated by some to be 26 foot long…which if that’s true… that would make it one of the biggest snakes in the world as the Guinness book of records has the world’s longest snake in captivity at 25 feet.

Okey Bakassi Also Speaks On BON Controversy
More drama and controversy continues to trail the Best Of Nollywood
Awards (BON) held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Thursday, October
16, 2014, after actor and producer, Elvis Chuks said some Nollywood
figures were not treated with respect and courtesy, lashing out at
Governor Amaechi and the award organizers in the process.
The main organizer of the awards, Seun Oloketuyi has responded, hitting back at Elvis Chuks and blogger Linda Ikeji.
Comedian Okey Bakassi has joined those making their voices heard on the matter, addressing reports flying around about Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi’s speech at the event.
He said: ‘The Best of Nollywood Awards in Port Harcourt on Thursday, 16-10-14 was a success. Except a few technical problems, the event was fun. It was good to meet show biz and media friends. I got the Award for Best Movie Actor(Igbo). Thanks to the organizers of B.O.N Awards. I appreciate the level of support the Rivers State Government gave the Organizers and thanks to Gov Chibuike Amaechi for staying up with Nollywood till about 2 am when the event ended. What is shocking to me is reading in the blog the next day that Gov Amaechi insulted Nollywood. A story that is false and completely taken out of context.
It’s either the author of the mischievous story didn’t attend the event or went with a different agenda. I hate when people vilify genuine supporters of Nollywood just to score cheap political goals.

Omonigho Abraham, the 4-year-old boy who was attacked by two dogs in the Igando area of Lagos State, has said the police and the government must ensure that the dogs that almost took his life are killed.

“I was playing with my brothers when the dogs entered our flat. I could not jump, so they
bit my head. I pinched Gaddafi (one of the dogs), but he did not leave me. It was when I heard the voice of my mummy that I woke up. I want them to kill the dogs; I won’t return home.”
PUNCH reports that the young boy, whose face was still marred with signs of the attack, wore a sad
countenance when he saw the gory pictures of his torn head on his father’s phone. He later started playing games on the smart phone.
A worker in the ward who said the boy’s health had improved compared to when he was admitted said:
“The day they brought him here remains unforgettable for me. I couldn’t eat throughout that day because he looked horrible.”
PUNCH Metro had first reported that Omonigho’s scalp was bitten off by two dogs in their neighbourhood, while he played with his brothers. Residents of the area and some policemen who besieged the scene of the incident had done nothing to rescue him until his mother, Mrs. Abraham arrived, fought off the dogs and snatched her son from their jaws.
Omonigho’s father, Mr. Odiah, who was angry that the police claimed to have saved the boy berated the police for failing to rescue his son. According to him, the police are attempting to muddle up the investigations. He told PUNCH Metro that he even got a call from the Divisional Crime Officer of the Igando Police Station asking him to come and “order the release of the dogs to their owner”.
