The Nigeria police plans to close most parts of Nigeria’s
capital, Abuja, on Tuesday for President Goodluck Jonathan’s declaration
of his bid to run in 2015 presidential elections.
The public relations officer of the Nigerian police, Emmanuel Ojukwu,
disclosed the plan in a statement “Diversion of vehicular traffic
within and around Central Business District Abuja,” published today.
The main aim of this was to aware the public of a key event taking place at Eagle Square Abuja.
The public relations officer of the Nigerian police revealed that all
roads around Eagle Square, the venue of
the president’s declaration,
would be closed down from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow.
According to Ojukwu members of the public were advised to use other
routes, as vehicular traffic will be diverted from most of the roads
leading in and out of Eagle Square Central Business District.
The Nigeria Police Force regretted any inconvenience the diversion of
vehicular movements within the area may cause members of the public, as
this is one of the proactive security measures put in place to avoid
break down of law and order in the area and Abuja at large.

Lawyer Keyamo Blasts Governor Uduaghan
In an open letter to Delta State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan,
Lagos-based lawyer Festus Keyamo characterized the politician as a
disgrace to governance.
Keyamo accused Uduaghan of interfering in the duties of the local electoral commission by replacing the Warri South-West candidate with the younger brother of ex-militant Tompolo, ahead of the last government chairmanship election.
The lawyer described Uduaghan’s decision as “unjust, unfair, illegal and ungodly” and urged him to immediately set up a truly independent Local Government Election Tribunal.

Nigeria Movie Producer Laments Difficulties Accessing Jonathan’s N3 billion Nollywood Fund
A Nigerian film maker, Eddie Ugbomou, on Sunday expressed concern
about the stringent conditions attached to accessing the N3 billion fund
for the development of film industry in Nigeria.
The fund was provided by the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2013 to help boost the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood.
Speaking at the ZAAFAR Film Award in London, Ugbomou said that “the process of accessing the fund is too cumbersome and film makers are discouraged to access it.
“Producers have undergone three stages of interviews where they were asked to provide various documents on their projects.
“Yet, they cannot access the loan, the sooner the authority releases the money the better; if that is done, it will boost the industry because more than 150 producers will be empowered.”
The producer also said that inadequate funding had remained a major challenge to Nollywood film producers.
“Even though Nigeria is rated as the third most valuable film industry in the world, it is difficult to breakthrough from its infancy stage.
“How can you shoot a film with N20 million and compare it with the one shot with 20 million dollars? Nollywood requires funding for it to grow,’’ he said.

The Founder Of The Household of God Church, Rev Chris Okotie, Took To Social Media To Share A Piece Dedicated To Boko Haram Insurgency In The Country.
In his Facebook message titled “Boko Haram’s horrific advance” dated
November 6, Okotie asked President Goodluck Jonathan to focus on the
issue until it is too late.
The clergyman started with the paragraph from the September speech by US President Barack Obama.
“‘No God condones this terror. No grievance justifies these actions. There can be no reasoning – no negotiation – with this brand of evil. The only language understood by killers like this is the language of force’ – President Barack Obama on the ISIS terrorist group.”
Okotie continued with the failed ceasefire agreement, announced October 17. It would be recalled that the alleged deal was mocked by the sect, which soon launched dire attacks and released a video debunking the existence of such an agreement.
“The Federal government’s widely publicized ceasefire agreement with the Boko Haram insurgents was met with more violent attacks, and the capture of more territories by the Islamists. Their leaders even went ahead to disavow any negotiations with our government, with a firm promise never to make peace.
“Of course, Boko Haram has made good its threat. The bombings have continued unabated; and as you read this, the North Eastern towns of Gwoza, Mubi, Michika, Gulak, Madagali, and several obscure villages are still occupied by the insurgents. During the week, Gombe and Potiskum were attacked, with a lot of casualties. Same familiar story!”

A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Bauchi
State, Alhaji Hassan Mohammed Sheri, has openly canvassed for votes for
presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General
Muhammadu Buhari (retd).
Sheri urged his supporters to queue behind the aspiration of the former head of state to become Nigeria’s president come 2015 general elections.
Sheri, said to be a close associate of the PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, described Buhari as the most credible among those aspiring to lead the country in the current dispensation.
He spoke at a press conference in Bauchi on Tuesday.
He described Buhari as “an exemplary leader”, a selfless leader, who maintained his integrity despite the various positions he has held in Nigeria.
“If it is for money Buhari would have amassed wealth more than any Nigerian because he had held other lucrative positions that many Nigerians were not opportune to, that could have enriched him”, he stated.
“Let me tell you categorically that I’m 100 percent in support of Buhari presidency come 2015 and therefore appeal to all Nigerians to ensure his victory at the polls”, he said.
Sheri, however, stressed that he remains a member of the PDP, despite his views.

Fellow Nigerians Do You Agree With What Atiku Says That Whoever Emerges As APC Flag Bearer Is Better Than Jonathan
A former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Tuesday, said all the
presidential aspirants on the platform of the All
Progressives Congress, APC, are far better than President Goodluck
Jonathan.
“Any of the APC aspirants is better than Jonathan; whoever wins the party primary is better than President Jonathan”, Atiku said in Minna, Niger State at the public declaration of Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah for the presidency.
Describing the LEADERSHIP group founder as a “personal friend”, the former vice president, who is also seeking the presidential ticket of the APC, disclosed that he and the other four aspirants had agreed to back whoever emerges as the flag bearer during the primary election in order to bring an end to the Jonathan administration.
He added, “We are united. We have resolved to support whoever emerges. We are not fighting each other; that is why I am here today. Our target is to rescue the country from the misrule of the PDP”.
The former VP, who earlier received a backlash from the Presidency over his comment that the worsening state of insecurity could be attributed to a leadership deficit in the country, decried the state of the nation under the PDP, saying that it had been grounded to a halt.

I Would Rather Watch Grass Grow Than Watch BBA: Vera Sidika
It’s now clear that a lot of people are now bored out by the annual reality TV show — Big Brother Africa.
This time, it’s controversial Kenyan model, Vera Sidika that has something to say about the show.
Vera has described watching ongoing popular reality TV show, BBHotshots, as a waste of her precious time after tagging the continental show as ‘boring’.
With Kenyan representatives, Sabina Stadler and Melvin Alusa evicted from BBHotshots, the video vixen has condemned the two contestants for falling to prove themselves and make their country proud.
In a recent article published on Nairobi Wire, the curvaceous Vera, widely known for flaunting her b**bs, said:‘Kenyans don’t have strategy; they just go like if they are going to the market to buy onions and tomatoes. Prezzo had strategy, BBA is a game. You need a game plan; you need to be very calculative. Most contestants just go freestyle.’
Not done, she added: ‘I have studied Kenyans and realized, Kenyans don’t give a f..k if you’re not a celeb, they will only watch u if you are somebody, look at Prezzo’s year, almost everyone watched, even Uhuru talked about him. Controversial people give you the urge to watch and see what they will do next, his or her lifestyle, how does he sleep, eat, shower, get dressed e.t.c.
‘I would rather watch grass grow than watch BBA. So boring, they are old housemates and ugly, you don’t even want to watch shower hour.’
