Top-5 Things You Should Avoid In Your CV

Sometimes we are so addicted with wanting to show our creativity, productivity and success in our CVs, that we can make some typical mistakes.

So look through yours once again to avoid these errors. 

Be sure, that there is no such things as:

1. Too personal info

Usually, it is enough to mention only your birth details, place of residence and probably a professional looking photo. Do not go so far as to mention such unnecessary details as the number of children you have, what church you attend, the political party you support, etc.

2. Bad grammar and spelling mistakes

The majority of CVs that are gotten by recruiters online have some errors both spelling or grammatical. So read it carefully before sending. Or the best variant – give it to your wife, girlfriend, husband or best friend to proofread.

 3. Wrong work experience

Read the job description once more. Then take another look at your CV. If the position you are applying for does not require all your job experiences, then only mention the ones that are important to that particular position

4. Mentioning too many hobbies

Some CVs are ignored by HR-managers only because your e-mail address is unprofessional. So it is sad, but you should better avoid such e-mails as iloveicecream@blabla.com etc. Too many hobbies mentioned are not so great either.

Try not to use negative language in your CV. It is important to replace them with positive ones. For example do not mention the reason you are intending to leave the last job you had, and definitely do not talk about the reason you were fired (if you were)
